Stress-systemet heter p\u00e5 fack-spr\u00e5k <em><strong>sympatiska nervsystemet<\/strong> <\/em>medan lugn-systemet heter <em><strong>parasympatiska nervsystemet<\/strong><\/em>. Parasympatiska och sympatiska nervsystemet utg\u00f6r tillsammans det autonoma nervsystemet vilket styr processer i kroppens muskler och organ som inte \u00e4r direkt viljestyrda (men som vi samtidigt till viss del kan p\u00e5verka med exempelvis yoga och andning).<\/p>\n<p>Det sympatiska nervsystemet mobiliserar kroppens resurser f\u00f6r att kunna klara av att \u201dfly eller f\u00e4kta\u201d \u2013 t.ex. genom att blodet g\u00e5r till muskler som kan beh\u00f6vas vid dessa aktiviteter, matsm\u00e4ltningen avstannar, puls, blodtryck och blodsocker h\u00f6js, pupillerna vidgas. Detta aktiveras d\u00e5 vi beh\u00f6ver prestera eller upplever n\u00e5gon form av stress \u2013 det kan vara stress vi upplever som negativ eller positiv.<\/p>\n<p>Parasympatiska nervsystemet aktiveras vid s\u00f6mn och vilsamma aktiviteter, exempelvis d\u00e5 vi \u00e4ter i lugn och ro eller myser med n\u00e5gon vi tycker om. Detta system kopplar bl.a. p\u00e5 matsm\u00e4ltningen, s\u00e4nker blodtrycket och pulsen, minskar stresshormonerna i kroppen och \u00f6kar oxytocinniv\u00e5erna. D\u00e5 parasympatiska nervsystemet \u00e4r aktiverat har kroppen utrymme f\u00f6r att ta hand om sig sj\u00e4lv s\u00e5 att l\u00e4kning och immunf\u00f6rsvar fr\u00e4mjas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoga = en mycket bra tr\u00e4ningsform f\u00f6r att balansera dessa tv\u00e5 system<\/strong><br \/>\nM\u00e5nga idag upplever livet som stressande och att de inte f\u00e5r s\u00e5 mycket vila och lugn i vardagen \u2013 d\u00e5 kan yoga f\u00f6ra in mer lugn och avslappning i livet. Samtidigt s\u00e5 kan yogan ocks\u00e5 anv\u00e4ndas f\u00f6r att h\u00f6ja energiniv\u00e5erna. I den traditionella yogafilosofin s\u00e5 finns tankar kring att man i kroppen beh\u00f6ver balansera tv\u00e5 motsatta krafter; en kraft kopplad till h\u00f6g energi och en kraft kopplat till l\u00e5g energi och m\u00e5nga yogapraktiker kan ha som syfte att balansera dessa krafter. Ofta t\u00e4nker vi p\u00e5 stress som n\u00e5gonting negativt men stress-systemet \u00e4r grundl\u00e4ggande f\u00f6r kroppens \u00f6verlevnad. F\u00f6r att vi ska kunna m\u00e5 bra beh\u00f6ver vi dock tillbringa tid b\u00e5de i aktivitet och vila. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r arbetar jag och m\u00e5nga andra yogal\u00e4rare i en yogaklass oftast b\u00e5de med fysiskt aktiva \u00f6vningar och \u00f6vningar f\u00f6r lugn och \u00e5terh\u00e4mtning. Yogan kan d\u00e4rmed vara en m\u00f6jlighet att l\u00e4ra sig att k\u00e4nna vad kroppen beh\u00f6ver i stunden och l\u00e4ra sig tekniker f\u00f6r att b\u00e5de kunna \u00f6ka energin i kroppen och hj\u00e4lpa kroppen att komma ned i varv.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Obs: T\u00e4nk dock p\u00e5 att yoga endast \u00e4r ett verktyg och verktyg kan anv\u00e4ndas p\u00e5 m\u00e5nga olika vis. Precis s\u00e5 som yoga kan anv\u00e4ndas f\u00f6r att l\u00e4ra k\u00e4nna kroppens behov och fr\u00e4mja h\u00e4lsa s\u00e5 finns det m\u00e5nga exempel p\u00e5 personer som har anv\u00e4nt yoga p\u00e5 destruktiva s\u00e4tt, t.ex. som ett s\u00e4tt att \u00f6ka extrema prestationer i sitt liv eller stressa kroppen med allt f\u00f6r intensiv tr\u00e4ning (det finns ju varianter av yoga som endast elittr\u00e4nade kroppar \u00e4r gjorda f\u00f6r).
